Admiral Nikolai Evmenov, the commander-in-chief of the Navy, called the fourth-generation nuclear-powered submarines the focus of military and scientific power, which one after another enter the Russian fleet, are being built rhythmically and are being tested.
The reason for such an assessment was today's withdrawal from the boathouse of the Generalissimo Suvorov missile carrier - already the second serial, which was laid down in 2014 and was built at Sevmash according to the 09552 Borey-A project of the Rubin Central Design Bureau.
Addressing the participants of the ceremony, the Commander-in-Chief of the Navy noted that the ships of the Borey-A project, which include the Prince Vladimir and Prince Oleg already transferred to the fleet, have proven their reliability and high combat effectiveness. The cruiser Generalissimo Suvorov, which has just been withdrawn from the slipway with the Bulava missile system, continues the same series.
"This is our strategic argument," Admiral Evmenov said bluntly. - Nuclear-powered submarines are defending our country. We are waiting for these ships. They have shown their reliability. They contain the focus of military and scientific thought, the warmth of your hands and hearts…
The Commander-in-chief of the Navy expressed confidence that in the coming year "Generalissimo Suvorov" will withstand all the necessary tests and will be accepted into the princely family "Boreyev". This goal, we recall, was determined at a recent board of the Ministry of Defense and Minister Sergei Shoigu: the admission of the nuclear submarine "Generalissimo Suvorov" into the fleet is a priority task for 2022.
Nikolay Evmenov confirmed today that this ship, as well as the Prince Oleg adopted the day before, will replenish and strengthen the grouping of nuclear submarines of the Pacific Fleet.
- For more than 20 years there has not been such a massive laying, construction, and reception of new ships, if we mean missile submarines, - stated the Commander-in-chief of the Navy. - A large program is planned for next year. I think that sevmashevtsy will not let you down…
According to the press service of the shipyard, following the commander-in-chief of the Navy, the construction participants and the crew of the new ship, headed by Captain I Rank Viktor Artemov, were congratulated by the Governor of the Arkhangelsk Region Alexander Tsybulsky, Deputy Director General of the USC for Military Shipbuilding Vladimir Korolev, Director General of the Central Design Bureau Rubin Igor Vilnit and Director General of Sevmash Mikhail Budnichenko.
