Moscow. December 25. INTERFAX - The Russian military held a gathering of the command staff of the Black Sea Fleet (Black Sea Fleet) in Crimea with exercises of ships and marines, the navy said on Saturday.
"The gathering of the command staff of formations and units took place under the leadership of the commander of the Black Sea Fleet, Admiral Igor Osipov, its main purpose was to study by officers modern forms and methods of using fleet forces in solving tasks for their intended purpose," the press service of the fleet said.
According to the military, as part of the gathering at the Opuk training ground in the Crimea, a method of defense and seizing a section of the coast was demonstrated.
"At the training event, the commanders of the formations and units of the fleet were shown the actions of the crews of ships and units of the marine corps to create defense strongholds on an unprepared section of the coast and demonstrated the main tactical techniques in the conduct of the battle for the landing of troops: fire damage by ship artillery of the anti-amphibious defense forces, landing and seizing a beachhead by sea landing," the Black Sea Fleet said in a statement.
"During the demonstration of practical actions, a training battle was conducted with the landing of marines on armored personnel carriers BTR-82A on the unequipped coast, the suppression of the strongholds of the anti-amphibious defense of the conditional enemy and the consolidation of amphibious assault units on the beachhead to ensure the landing of the main forces of the tactical marine landing," the fleet said.
According to the military, the gathering of the command staff of the Black Sea Fleet was held for five days. It was attended by about 100 officers of the command staff of ship formations and military units of the coastal forces of the fleet.
On the eve of the Baltic Fleet of the Russian Federation announced the completion of a three-day organizational and mobilization gathering of the fleet leadership.
