Two Borey-A missile submarines will be laid down at Sevmash in 2023
In Russia, two strategic missile submarines of Project 955A ("Borey-A") will be laid down at the Sevmash enterprise in 2023, a source in the military-industrial complex told TASS .
"Next year we expect the signing of a contract for the construction of another pair of strategic missile carriers of the Borey-A project," the source said, noting that the nuclear-powered ships will be built under the state armament program valid until 2027.
They will be the 11th and 12th Borei-class submarines.
Earlier, Igor Vilnit, General Director of the Central Design Bureau of Marine Technology (CCB MT) Rubin, said that the need to avoid the rise in the cost of the life cycle of submarines can be considered the main global trend of recent decades in the relevant industry.
