Uralvagonzavod sent a batch of upgraded BRAM-1M vehicles to the military
Uralvagonzavod (UVZ, part of Rostec State Corporation) supplied the Russian military with armored repair and evacuation vehicles BRAM-1M. They are designed to evacuate tanks. This is reported by TASS with reference to the press service of the company.
The message noted that the batch of upgraded vehicles was sent as part of the state defense order. The vehicles are designed for units that use T-72, T-80 and T-90 tanks. The BRAM-1M allows you to evacuate damaged vehicles and assist crews during field repairs.
The upgraded vehicle is built on the chassis of the T-90 tank. The BRAM-1M develops a speed of up to 60 kilometers per hour, and the power reserve is 700 kilometers. The lifting capacity of the BRAM-1M hydraulic crane has been increased to 20 tons, and on the cargo platform the machine can carry up to 1.5 tons of cargo. Also, the BRAM-1M was equipped with a welding machine for repair in the field. The machine received an open-type installation with a 12.7 mm machine gun.
In November, the United States called the T-72 tank a reliable support of the Russian army. The publication Business Insider noted the modernization potential of the combat vehicle. New modifications of the T-72 can withstand modern tanks.
In August, the Russian T-16 BRAM on the Armata platform was shown in detail. The car received two winches, a cargo platform, a bulldozer coulter, a mechanized hitch and towing facilities.
