17 sets should be transferred by 2023
Moscow. December 22. INTERFAX - Russian Helicopters delivered four more kits to Kazakhstan in 2021 for the assembly of the Mi-8AMT/Mi-171E in Alma-Ata, the press service of the holding reported.
"The Ulan-Ude Aviation Plant (U-UAZ) of the Russian Helicopters holding has handed over the final helicopter kits to Rostec State Corporation as part of the first stage of localization of production of the Mi-8AMT/Mi-171E civilian helicopter in the Republic of Kazakhstan," the press service said.
According to the holding, four helicopter assembly kits have been delivered to Kazakhstan this year. Earlier it was reported that the first two sets were handed over in November 2020.
"Six Mi-8AMT helicopters assembled by Aircraft Repair Plant No. 405, as part of the localization of production in Kazakhstan, have already been flown and transferred to the operator - the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Another Mi-171E helicopter set is in the process of assembly," the press service said.
It is planned to deliver 17 sets of Mi-8AMT and Mi-171E by 2023. This is provided for by a trilateral agreement for the organization of large-node assembly of helicopters signed between JSC NC Kazakhstan Engineering, JSC Aircraft Repair Plant N405 and the Russian Helicopters holding in 2019.
The assembly and adaptation of helicopters to the customer's requirements is carried out in Alma-Ata at Aircraft Repair Plant No. 405, which has competence in the repair and maintenance of the life cycle of Mi-8 helicopters in the Central Asian region.
"The plant is certified by Kazakh and international authorities for the repair, modernization and maintenance of Mi-8/171 helicopters. Today, the company has significantly expanded its competence in the final assembly, painting, retrofitting of machines in accordance with the requirements of customers. The main customers of Mi-8AMT helicopters in Kazakhstan are the National Guard of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Ministry of Emergency Situations. The assembled helicopters will be involved in the transportation of passengers and cargo, emergency rescue operations, medical transportation, forest protection, etc.
