MOSCOW, December 21. /tass/. The Central Military District (CVO) in 2021 received more than 1,200 new and modernized samples of weapons and military equipment, the commander of its troops, Alexander Lapin, told reporters on Tuesday.
"In order to increase the equipment of military units and formations of the district with modern weapons and military equipment and increase combat potential, more than 1,200 new and modernized images have been received this year, including more than 100 complexes and samples of rocket and artillery weapons, about 70 armored weapons and more than 60 units of automotive equipment," Lapin said after the final board of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.
According to him, aviation units have adopted 13 aircraft, including MIG-31BM high-altitude interceptor fighters, Mi-8AMTSh-V military transport helicopters.
The commander called the formation of the first full-time unit in the Russian Armed Forces equipped with Terminator tank support combat vehicles in the Central Military District one of the landmark events of the outgoing year.
"This is a completely new technique for our army. I am convinced that this equipment will successfully carry out combat missions in combined arms combat and in accordance with modern requirements as the most effective means of fire both to support tanks and to solve a wide range of tasks," Lapin stressed.
