The Avangard and Dagger complexes have been put on combat duty, Russian President Vladimir Putin said.
"The development of the latest types of weapons was proceeding at an active pace. Some of them - the Avangard and Dagger complexes have been put on combat duty," Putin said during an expanded meeting of the board of the Ministry of Defense.
He said that this year a wide range of tasks was also solved by the Navy.
"On an ongoing basis, our ships and submarines were on combat duty in all significant areas of the World Ocean. The inter-fleet grouping with long-range aviation successfully completed combat training tasks in the waters of the Baltic and North Seas, in remote areas of the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans, and the grouping of submarines and other ships - in the Arctic Ocean under difficult ice conditions," the President said.
Interfax also quoted the Presidential press secretary as saying that Putin would take part in the ceremony of the acceptance of the Knyaz Oleg and Novosibirsk nuclear submarines into the Navy via video link.
