Moscow. December 21. INTERFAX - The Russian Defense Ministry has completed the construction of six berths in Kaspiysk (Dagestan) for warships of the Caspian Flotilla, the military department told reporters on Tuesday.
"Specialists of the military construction complex of the Russian Defense Ministry have completed the construction of six berths for mooring ships at the new base of the Caspian Flotilla in the Republic of Dagestan," the ministry said.
At present, the Ministry of Defense clarified, the construction of new hydraulic structures (northern and southern protective jetties with berths) and coastal infrastructure for parking and servicing ships, boats and support vessels, including new and promising models, is continuing in Kaspiysk.
The Northern and Southern jetties with a length of 3 km will protect more than 700 thousand square meters. m of the inner harbor from waves and sediments. Work on the Northern Pier has already been completed.
To deepen the harbor, military builders chose about 2 million cubic meters of bottom sand, which is also used for planning the territory of the military camp.
