MOSCOW, December 19. /tass/. Turkish Bayraktar drones are easy targets for such domestic air defense systems as the Pantsir. This was stated on the air of the TV channel "Russia-1" by the deputy chief of the anti-aircraft missile forces of the Russian Aerospace Forces Yuri Muravkin.
"This is a very easy, very tasty target for the Shell," he said.
According to him, Bayraktar has such high-speed and mass-dimensional characteristics that it is not difficult to shoot down a drone even for a calculation prepared for a "satisfactory" assessment.
"Nuances are important in everything. If there is no calculation in the "Shell", if the calculation is on the street, if the "Shell" is not in combat mode, then this is just a training ground for Bayraktar calculations," Muravkin explained, answering a correspondent's question about the reasons for the destruction of air defense complexes by drone calculations in Syria and Libya.
Earlier, a number of foreign media questioned the effectiveness of the Russian Pantsir complexes in the battle against the new Turkish drones. However, as emphasized in the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, as a rule, vehicles that were not in combat mode or without a crew were destroyed.
Manufactured by the High-Precision Complexes Holding (part of the Rostec State Corporation), the Pantsir-S ZRPC is designed for short-range cover of military and civilian objects, including long-range air defense systems, from all modern and promising means of air attack. The Pantsir, mounted on a truck chassis for greater mobility, carries an armament of two 30-millimeter cannons, each of which is capable of firing up to 40 rounds per second, as well as 12 anti-aircraft missiles. The complex is capable of hitting air targets flying at speeds up to 1000 m / s, at a distance of 200 to 20 thousand meters.
