Tests of the GPA with the upgraded AL-31ST engine produced by UEC-UMPO have begun
On December 15, at the Polyana compressor station in the Blagoveshchensk district of the Republic of Bashkortostan, complex operational tests of a gas pumping unit with an upgraded AL-31ST engine manufactured by PJSC UEC-UMPO (part of the Rostec United Engine Corporation) began.

The result of a large-scale program to improve the reliability of AL-31ST, implemented by UEC-UMPO since 2012 together with Gazprom Transgaz Ufa LLC, was the delivery of products to customers in a new constructive form and with increased resource indicators.
Thus, the AL-31ST engine has upgraded working blades and a high-pressure turbine support, a low-pressure compressor with an adjustable inlet guide device. Another improved AL-31ST was shipped this year by UEC-UMPO for the Sharan CS, two for the Jubilee CS, four for Gazprom's key project, the Power of Siberia gas pipeline, and 12 for the construction of the Bovanenkovsky oil and gas field.
The AL-31ST ground-based gas turbine engine is in the most popular power range (16 MW) and is intended for use at gas pumping stations. The efficiency of the engine is 35.5%, which gives the product a competitive advantage over drives of the same power with lower efficiency. Currently, 80 AL-31ST engines are operated at the facilities of Gazprom PJSC.
In connection with the expansion of the production of industrial engines, the association solves the problem of staffing joint projects. Thus, in the first quarter of 2022, a training program for qualified personnel for the maintenance and operation of industrial engines will start at the Rostec Production and Training Center located on the territory of UEC-UMPO. The key task that is planned to be solved is to increase the level of professional competencies of Gazprom specialists working at facilities with engines manufactured by UEC-UMPO.
