Moscow. December 18. INTERFAX - The crews of the frigate Admiral Grigorovich and the patrol ship Dmitry Rogachev conducted a complex of exercises with deck aircraft in the Mediterranean Sea, the press service of the Black Sea Fleet (Black Sea Fleet) reported on Saturday.
"In accordance with the combat training plan, the pilots of the Ka-27PS helicopters based on the ships conducted a series of planned training at sea to search and track the submarine, as well as to search for people trapped overboard the ship," the press service reported.
It is also noted that the pilots, in cooperation with the crews, worked out tasks at sea for takeoffs and landings on the deck of ships, conducted training of ship crews providing helicopter flights, and also checked all systems of aviation complexes.
"Admiral Grigorovich", equipped with long-range cruise missiles "Caliber" (developed by OKB "Novator", JSC "Concern of East Kazakhstan Region "Almaz - Antey") is the lead frigate of the marine zone of project 11356. The ships of this series have a displacement of about 4 thousand tons, a speed of 30 knots, and a navigation autonomy of 30 days. The frigate is also armed with the Shtil-1 self-defense missile system, the A-190 100-millimeter artillery launcher, anti-aircraft artillery, a rocket launcher, torpedoes, and can carry a Ka-27 or Ka-31 deck helicopter.
The patrol ship Dmitry Rogachev of project 22160 was built at the Gorky Zelenodolsk Plant and launched in 2017. The main strike armament of the ships of this project are Kalibr-NK cruise missiles.
A Russian squadron operates on a permanent basis in the Mediterranean Sea. It consists of up to 15 warships and support vessels.
Russian frigates, as well as diesel submarines from the permanent Navy compound in the Mediterranean Sea, have repeatedly struck with Kalibr cruise missiles at militants in Syria.
