MOSCOW, December 15. /tass/. The Russian Armed Forces have the second largest fleet of military aircraft in the world. This is stated in the handbook World Air Forces 2022, published by Flight Global magazine and available to TASS.
According to the study, Russia has 4,173 military aircraft, which is 8% of the global fleet of military aircraft. The first place was taken by the US Army with an indicator of 13,246 military aircraft (25%). China is in third place with 3,285 military aircraft and helicopters (6%). The top five largest military aviation fleets also include India (2,182. 4%) and South Korea (1,595. 3%).
Next on the list are Japan (1,449. 3%), Pakistan (1,387. 2%), Egypt (1,062. 2%), Turkey 1,057. 2%) and France (1,055. 2%). There are 22,781 aircraft (43%) in the military aircraft fleets of other countries.
As of December 2021, 53,271 military aircraft and helicopters were in service in the world.
