The export version of the Chinese Type 96A tank was noticed in Tanzania
In Africa, Chinese VT-2 tanks were demonstrated for the first time. The export version of the Type 96A tank was noticed at a display of military equipment, which was timed to coincide with the sixtieth anniversary of Tanzania's independence. This is reported by Rossiyskaya Gazeta.
Tanks were transported on car trawls through the stadium of the city of Dar es Salaam. The publication notes that the VT-2 is based on the design of the Type 96A tank, which took part in tank biathlon competitions.
VT-2 received a copy of the Soviet 125 mm smoothbore cannon with automatic loading. A diesel engine with a capacity of 800 horsepower provides the tank with a speed of up to 65 kilometers per hour. The combined booking of the car is complemented by dynamic protection units.
Earlier, Alexander Mikheev, CEO of Rosoboronexport, spoke about his readiness to offer India tank production technologies. He noted that as part of participation in the tender for the supply of light vehicles, the Russian side can transfer the production technology of the Octopus-SDM1 tank.
In November, sources of the Izvestia newspaper in the Ministry of Defense reported that Russia would strengthen the Western strategic direction with self-propelled anti-tank missile systems (ATGMS) "Chrysanthemum-S".
