He noted that today only Russia possesses hypersonic weapons, but sooner or later it will appear in other leading military powers of the world.
"It will appear. But I think that we will be able to pleasantly surprise our partners by the fact that when they have these weapons, we will most likely have the means to combat these weapons," Putin added.
Now Russia is the only country in the world where hypersonic missiles are on alert or are in a high degree of readiness.
In the Armed Forces, the Dagger air complexes with a hypersonic missile are on experimental combat duty, the Zircon hypersonic missile is undergoing state tests, strategic missiles with the Avangard hypersonic planning unit are on combat duty.
