Kiev. December 12. INTERFAX-UKRAINE - The Ukrainian-Turkish plant, which is being built in Vasylkiv (Kiev region), will produce ANKA-type jet drones - the next generation of UAVs after Bayraktar, the speaker of the Ukrainian delegation to the Trilateral Contact Group (TCG) on the settlement of the situation in Donbass, Alexey Arestovich, said on Saturday during an interview with Radio Liberty (recognized in the Russian media as a foreign agent).
"The plant is being built now in Vasilkov... which will produce Ukrainian-Turkish drones. Including ANKA - heavy drones. Including Ukrainian drones, promising ones," he said. "In particular, we can talk about jet drones, which are interceptors. That is, they are able to act against aerial objects, against other drones. Even against manned aircraft. They will have Ukrainian engines and the rest of the Turkish avionics: the hull and the like," Arestovich said.
He clarified that ANKA is the next generation of UAVs after Bayraktar: "not piston, but jet ... UAVs exceeding Bayraktar in all characteristics," he noted.
According to Arestovich, the plant in Vasilkov should already produce its first products at the end of 2022.
