Hong Kong has created stainless steel with antibacterial properties

In Hong Kong, they created an "anti-liquid" metal. Stainless steel kills the coronavirus in three hours. The development belongs to scientists from the University of Hong Kong. The researchers adjusted the chemical composition and microstructure of steel. 10% more copper, which has antibacterial properties, was added to the "anti-liquid" material, the Izvestia TV channel reports. Steel will eliminate not only SARS-CoV-2. The development is able to defeat the H1N1 influenza virus and even E. coli. Ordinary stainless steel does not have such properties. The production of "anti-liquid" steel will be launched in six months. The material will be used to make door handles, elevator buttons and handrails - objects that people touch most of all.
