Tests of the Hurricane-M MLRS have begun at the Osipovichi training ground in Belarus
The Hurricane-M multiple launch rocket system (MLRS) is being tested at the Osipovichi training ground of the 51st Guards Artillery Brigade of the Armed Forces of Belarus. This is reported by BelTA with reference to the head of the Osipovichi garrison, Guard Colonel Alexei Ratushny.
According to Ratushny, the 9P140MB combat vehicle and the 9T452MB transport-loading vehicle from the Uragan-M MLRS are undergoing state tests. The upgraded vehicles are based on the MAZ-6317 chassis. New machines replaced the outdated ZIL-135LM. The MLRS has received modern means of communication and automation.
The vehicles were tested during a cross-country march. The calculations also carried out rocket launches. The head of the garrison noted that the prototypes meet the stated requirements.
Earlier it became known about the rearmament of the 338th Guards jet Brigade. Sources of the Izvestia newspaper in the Russian Ministry of Defense reported that the military will receive the Tornado-S MLRS and high-precision ammunition.
In March, sources in the Russian Defense Ministry reported that the Smerch MLRS would be replaced by Tornado machines with an automated guidance system.
