TSAMTO, December 7. Russian Helicopters Holding of Rostec State Corporation has increased the flight range of Ansat and Ansat-M helicopters by 140 km due to the installation of an additional tank.
Thanks to the new device, the conventional version of the car will be able to fly up to 645 km, the upgraded one - up to 780 km.
The received certificate of the Federal Air Transport Agency allows the Kazan Helicopter Plant to install an additional tank with a volume of 195 liters not only on new machines, but also on those in operation after minor modifications. The device can be equipped with both passenger and sanitary versions of the Ansat.
"Today, a large-scale modernization of the mass-produced Ansat, which is one of the main helicopters for air ambulance, is being carried out. In parallel, an updated version of the Ansat–M helicopter is being created. The work on increasing the flight range is of great importance, as it will make operational evacuation from remote areas more accessible and expand opportunities for passenger or cargo transportation. Thanks to the new additional tank, the flight range of the conventional Ansat will increase to 645 km, and the upgraded one to 780 km," said Nikolay Kolesov, General Director of the Russian Helicopters holding.
At the moment, certification tests of the Ansata-M main fuel system have been carried out, confirming the declared flight range of 640 km.
Ansat is a light twin-engine multi-purpose helicopter, the serial production of which is deployed at the Kazan Helicopter Plant. According to the certificate, the design of the helicopter allows you to quickly transform it into both a cargo and a passenger version with the possibility of transporting up to seven people. In May 2015, an addition to the type certificate for the modification of a helicopter with a medical module was received.
