VLADIVOSTOK, Dec 6 - RIA Novosti. The frigate "Marshal Shaposhnikov" and the corvette "Hero of the Russian Federation Aldar Tsydenzhapov" of the Pacific Fleet (TOF) entered the waters of the Sea of Japan to conduct the first combat training events in the new training period, the TOF reports.
"In one of the naval training grounds, the crew of the Marshal Shaposhnikov frigate will conduct an exercise on the search and detection of a simulated enemy submarine, as well as work out a set of preparatory and scoring exercises with the implementation of an algorithm of actions during missile firing," the report says.
The conditional target will simulate an enemy ship.
The crew of the corvette "Hero of the Russian Federation Aldar Tsydenzhapov" will conduct air defense exercises with a single ship at sea. After completing the verification of the updated systems and equipment, the Marshal Shaposhnikov frigate will become part of the fleet's permanent readiness forces.
In the spring of this year, having undergone a deep modernization, the frigate Marshal Shaposhnikov successfully carried out test rocket firing of sea-based cruise missiles "Caliber" at coastal and naval targets from the waters of Peter the Great Bay.
