Moscow. December 3. INTERFAX - Su-34 bombers conducted training flights from the Baltimore airfield in Voronezh for the first time after its reconstruction, the press service of the Western Military District (VVO) reported.
"The crews of the Su-34 ZVO bombers have started their first scheduled flights at the reconstructed Baltimore airfield in Voronezh. More than 20 sorties were made, about 10 aircraft were involved, as well as over 500 military personnel of the flight and engineering staff of the aviation regiment," the press service said.
They noted that the new runway was tested after the reconstruction of the Baltimore airfield, to which the bomber aviation regiment of the Leningrad Army of the Air Force and Air Defense was relocated.
"During the training flights, the bomber crews worked out takeoffs and landings in various weather conditions, landings and takeoffs with different courses in afterburner modes at altitudes up to 17 thousand meters outside of urban development," the district headquarters said.
