MOSCOW, December 2. /tass/. The export-oriented modification of the latest Mi-28NM combat helicopter will be equipped with guided missiles (UR) "Chrysanthemum" developed by the Design Bureau of Mechanical Engineering (KBM, part of the holding "High-Precision Complexes" of the Rostec State Corporation). This was announced to TASS by the general designer of the KBM Valery Kashin during the international arms exhibition EDEX 2021.
"To use this weapon [UR "Chrysanthemum" - approx. TASS] on the Mi-28NM helicopter will be after the completion of the complex of flight tests of the KUV [guided weapons complex] as part of the helicopter," Kashin said.
According to him, a conventional Chrysanthemum rocket is used for the helicopter complex. "The Chrysanthemum complex uses standard serial missiles for combat helicopters," the KBM General Designer said.
As Kashin noted, the guided missile "Chrysanthemum" is at the stage of serial production. "Serial production of Chrysanthemum missiles has been underway for several years," he said.
The guided missile 9M123M "Chrysanthemum" is designed to destroy modern and promising enemy armored vehicles with dynamic protection, as well as enemy fortifications and engineering structures, surface and low-speed air targets, as well as manpower. The ammunition is also part of the armament of the Chrysanthemum-S self-propelled anti-tank missile system.
