Moscow. December 1st. INTERFAX - The Ka-62 multipurpose helicopter is certified in Russia, which allows it to begin serial deliveries, said Denis Manturov, head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation.
"The newest civilian Ka-62 helicopter has received a type certificate. This allows us to start serial deliveries of the machine to Russian customers, " Manturov said through the press service.
The document confirming the certification was issued to the Russian Helicopters holding by Rosaviation on November 30, the minister said.
The helicopter flight test program, which started in 2017, involved three prototypes that flew a total of about 700 hours. According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, from 2022 the helicopter will be put into serial production and brought to the Russian market.
The Ka-62 is a multi-purpose helicopter. Polymer composite materials (up to 60% by weight) are actively used in the design of the Ka-62, which made it possible to reduce fuel consumption, increase the speed and load capacity of the machine.
