Two diesel-electric submarines - Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky and Volkhov, and in the same detachment with them and the corvette "Gremyashchy" completed most of the transoceanic transition from the Baltic to the Pacific Ocean and arrived in Vladivostok. During the inter-fleet passage, the sailors crossed the Atlantic and Indian Oceans, as well as the Baltic, Northern, Mediterranean, Red, Arabian, South China and Japan Seas.
"The commander of the Pacific Fleet, Admiral Sergey Avakyants, during a solemn rally at the 33rd berth of the Primorsky Flotilla of diverse Forces, congratulated the sailors of the detachment on their arrival in their native harbor," the press service of the Pacific Fleet reports. - In addition to the fleet command, the personnel were met by relatives and friends, as well as representatives of manufacturing plants, the administration of Primorsky Krai and Vladivostok. The detachment completed the inter-fleet transition from the Baltic Fleet to the Pacific Fleet, which began in August of this year ...".
As follows from the same source, at the base of the corvette "Gremyashchy", the Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky and Volkhov DPLS will carry out replenishment of material reserves and scheduled maintenance after the completion of the inter-fleet transition.
It should be noted that for the first time the Pacific Fleet receives diesel-electric submarines capable of carrying high-precision Kalibr-PL cruise missiles. And the weapons of the corvette "Gremyashchy" - missiles of the same class "Caliber-NK".
The Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky submarine was officially accepted into the Pacific Fleet in November 2019, the Volkhov in October 2020. Both were built in St. Petersburg at the Admiralty shipyards according to the project of the Central Design Bureau "Rubin". The Gremyashchy corvette was built at the Northern Shipyard under the project of the Almaz ICD. The St. Andrew's flag was raised on it in December 2020.
