A video of the crash of a British F-35B Lightning fighter that occurred recently in the Mediterranean Sea was published on social networks. The footage shows how the plane at the moment of takeoff dives from the ramp nose into the sea. As The Drive portal notes, upon closer examination, it can be noticed that at the moment of ejection, the pilot's parachute seems to have caught on the nose of the aircraft.
The investigation of this emergency is still ongoing. According to preliminary data, the accident occurred due to the fact that a rain valve got into the engine, which they forgot to remove.
The fighter is now trying to get from the bottom of the sea. As previously reported by Western media, citing representatives of the British Ministry of Defense, there are fears that other countries, including Russia, may extract the fighter from the water.
