The main efforts of the military construction complex this year were focused on the creation of nuclear deterrence system facilities, locations of incoming weapons, improvement of airfields, infrastructure of the Arctic grouping, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said.
"The balanced development of the Armed Forces, the pace of rearmament of the army and navy are inextricably linked with the availability of modern supporting military infrastructure. In this regard, the main efforts of the Military Construction Complex this year were focused on the creation of facilities for nuclear deterrence forces and means, locations of incoming weapons, as well as on improving the airfield network, the naval basing system and the infrastructure of the Arctic grouping," the minister said. at the board of the Ministry of Defense on Wednesday.
In particular, according to him, the mine launchers of strategic missile systems in the Kaluga and Orenburg regions have been put on combat duty. The events continue in the Novosibirsk, Yoshkar-Ola, Nizhny Tagil, Irkutsk, Teikovsky (Ivanovo region) and Uzhursky (Krasnoyarsk Territory) formations of Strategic Missile Forces.
"As part of the deployment of the Unified Space System, the second stage of construction of the facilities of the Western Modernized Command Post has been completed for its transfer to trial operation. The Northern protective pier of the base point has been built in Kaspiysk to accommodate the main combat personnel of ships and vessels of the Caspian Flotilla," the minister said.
At the same time, he continued, the construction of coastal infrastructure facilities and engineering systems of the base point in Vilyuchinsk (Kamchatka Krai), berths in Baltiysk (Kaliningrad region) is being completed.
"The list of capital construction projects for 2022 is formed in accordance with the construction plan of the Ministry of Defense for 2019-2025, the State Armament Program for 2018-2027 and the state defense order. At the same time, the targeted infrastructure tasks of military districts, types and branches of the Armed Forces are taken into account," the minister said.
According to him, the meeting will consider the list of capital construction projects of the Russian Defense Ministry for 2022.
