In Rostov-on-Don, serial production of a new version of the world's most lifting helicopter, the Mi-26T2B, will begin. Permits for the start of conveyor production will be issued by the end of 2021.
"We are now in the final stage of obtaining the letter "O1" according to the basic version of the helicopter, there are not many flights left to complete the flight tests of the Mi-26T2B. We expect that by the end of the year we will make these flights and receive the letter "O1", - Andrey Boginsky, CEO of the Russian Helicopters holding company, told TASS.
He also noted that the first samples of the car had previously been delivered to the Russian Defense Ministry.
Recall that the first flight of the upgraded Mi-26T2B heavy transport helicopter took place in August 2018. According to the wishes of the military, a digital aerobatic system is installed on the helicopter, which allows you to fly in automatic mode in any conditions - day and night.
In addition, the Mi-26T2B received a new on-board defense complex "Vitebsk", not only detects the launch of missiles, but also "burns" the homing heads of anti-aircraft missiles with the help of a laser. For five crew members, energy-absorbing seats are installed in the cockpit, which "extinguish" kinetic waves during an emergency or hard landing. The Mi-26T2B received the title of the most powerful helicopter in the world for its ability to carry up to 20 tons of cargo on an external suspension.
