Promising self-propelled guns "Coalition-SV", currently at the final stage of experimental military operation, will receive a smart high-precision ammunition operating on the principle of "shot and forgot", the head of the missile forces and artillery of the Armed Forces of Russia, Lieutenant General Mikhail Matveevsky, told Izvestia.
According to him, without such a projectile, "it is impossible to fully implement the tactical and technical characteristics inherent in the design of the sample in terms of range, accuracy of firing and efficiency of performing firing tasks." According to the military, the self-propelled gun "is being developed and will be put into service with a full range of primary and special-purpose ammunition, which also includes guided projectiles."
In January, RIA Novosti, citing a source in the military-industrial complex, reported that the newest Russian self-propelled artillery installation (ACS) "Coalition-SV" was tested in the "squall of fire" mode. It was noted that the installation fired six shells that hit one target at the same time.
