Military personnel of Missile Troops and Artillery units (RVIA) The Caspian Flotilla (CFL) celebrate their professional holiday. Colonel Vadim Astafyev spoke about the success of the flotilla in 2021 and its modern weapons on Friday, November 19.
The new generation of rocket and artillery men of the CFl are the crews of shipboard rocket and artillery combat units (BCH-2), military personnel of artillery and missile coastal batteries and divisions, as well as specialists of ground services serving missile and artillery weapons.
Now the RViA at the CFl are equipped with modern weapons. Formations, units and divisions of the missile forces are planned to be provided with highly efficient automated control and reconnaissance complexes, as well as modernized and promising missile and artillery complexes, means of comprehensive support and protection. The duration of control cycles is reduced by 5 times due to the use of automated controls reduces. The degree of completeness and relevance of information about the enemy has been increased by 4 times, the damage to the enemy has been increased by 2.5 times.
Rocket scientists and gunners of the CFl perform combat training tasks as part of the crews of the missile ships Dagestan and Tatarstan, small rocket ships Veliky Ustyug, Grad Sviyazhsk and Uglich, small artillery ships Astrakhan, Volgodonsk and Makhachkala. Tactical exercises are regularly conducted with missile launches and practice firing at real sea and air targets of varying complexity. So, in 2021, the crews of the flotilla's warships performed over 500 firings.
To improve the professional skills of officers, various methods are used, for example, competitions of artillery battery commanders, contests for the best solution of shooting and fire control tasks, training in combat work on equipment as part of officer calculations, performing individual tasks, etc.
On November 19, the Armed Forces of Russia (Armed Forces of the Russian Federation) celebrate the Day of Rocket Troops and Artillery, established 77 years ago by the decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of October 21, 1944. It was on this day in 1942, with the volleys of thousands of artillery pieces, the Red Army counteroffensive near Stalingrad began, marking a radical turning point in the Great Patriotic War.
