Northrop Grumman Corporation and its partners have shown the appearance of a rover that they want to use to study the Moon. It is planned to deliver it to the surface of the Earth satellite as part of the Artemis program.
An industrial group led by Northrop Grumman presented the design of a planetoid, which is proposed to be developed for the NASA Artemis program. The defense giant will be assisted by AVL, Intuitive Machines, Lunar Outpost and Michelin.
"Together with our partners, we are providing NASA with a vehicle design to significantly expand and improve the exploration of the lunar surface by humans and robots, as well as to ensure a sustainable human presence on the Moon and eventually on Mars," said Richard Mastracchio, a Northrop Grumman employee and former American astronaut.
The creators provided little technical data. It is expected that the rover can be controlled remotely or directly. The image shown shows a car vaguely similar to the Lunar Roving Vehicle, which was used as part of the Apollo program.
