Creating a full-fledged killer robot is not a technical problem for Russia. The principal possibility of developing an autonomous lethal weapon in an interview with RIA Novosti was admitted by the CEO of the Kronstadt company Sergey Bogatikov.
"Creating a complete killer robot is not a problem. Moreover, weapons systems capable of operating fully automatically have existed in our armed forces since the Soviet era," the head said.
According to him, the main problem in the development of such an unmanned aerial vehicle will be the need for its further training to operate in a difficult situation on the battlefield and use weapons exclusively against the enemy, as well as "the moral and legal aspect of the destruction of a living being by a robot."
"There is a lot of work to be done, which will eventually completely change the face of the war, the methods of warfare. When robots collide on the battlefield, but not a person," the head said.
In November, Bogatikov said that for the first time in Russia, missiles were launched from the Termit unmanned attack helicopter. Their range was six kilometers, and the flight is being adjusted.
