The unmanned version of the fifth-generation light tactical aircraft (LTS) Checkmate was shown in a new video. The record was published by Rostec State Corporation.
The video demonstrates the features of the new aviation complex. The video showed an unmanned version of the fighter developed by Sukhoi. Externally, the aircraft differs from the prototype of the manned version of Checkmate by the absence of a cockpit.
Earlier, Breaking Defense wrote that Checkmate does not pose a threat to the American fifth-generation F-35 Lightning II aircraft. Analyst Richard Abulafia noted that countries that do not want strategic relations with Russia could buy a promising aircraft.
On Wednesday, the Polish portal Defence24 suggested that the Russian Checkmate could be a blow to the United States. According to the publication, the plane may be of interest to the UAE authorities.
Checkmate LTS was presented in July at the International Aviation and Space Salon MAKS-2021. The head of Rostec State Corporation Sergey Chemezov noted that the aircraft will cost from 25 to 35 million dollars.
