The Russian Aerospace Forces (VKS) will receive four serial fifth-generation Su-57 fighters at the end of this year.
This is reported by RIA Novosti with reference to a source in the country's military-industrial complex. According to him, tests of the first serial Su-57, received by the VKS a year ago, are continuing at the state flight test center of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation. Thus, the number of serial fighters of this model will grow to five in the troops.
As RG has already written, the delivery of the Su-57 to the VKS is on schedule. So, in 2024, the army will receive a total of 22 fifth-generation combat aircraft, and after another four years, their total number should increase to 76.
The Su-57 is a multifunctional fighter, it is designed to destroy all types of air, surface and ground objects. It has a cruising supersonic speed, it has the latest complex of on-board equipment. Augmented reality technology is used to speed up the assembly of the aircraft at the factory.
