Potential foreign customers are interested in the Russian Su-57, which is the world's only fifth-generation heavy fighter offered for export, due to its low visibility, high speed, combat load and maneuverability, Rostec CEO Sergey Chemezov told TASS .
According to him, criticism of the fighter in the foreign press is explained by the fact that they see a competitor in the plane. "Tabloid headlines do not affect the combat capabilities of the aircraft. If you look at this car in action, then half of the questions disappear by themselves. For example, about engine power," the head of the state corporation said.
The head added that "some attacks do not cause anything but a smile." "Recently, in particular, it was announced in the foreign press that the Su-57 will never be delivered to the troops! But the aircraft is already being mass-produced and delivered to the Russian army," Chemezov said.
Also, the head of Rostec said that the technical appearance of the Russian single-engine fifth-generation fighter Checkmate is almost formed. According to him, the main competitor of the new aircraft is the American F-35 Lightning II fighter.
