On Wednesday, engineering assault groups were used for the first time at the training ground of the Kazan Tank School, where the "Indestructible Brotherhood-2021" exercise of the Collective Peacekeeping Forces of the CSTO is taking place.
According to the plan of the exercise, some armed persons seized the administrative building, created long-term firing points there and refuse to surrender. Numerous "tripwires" and other improvised explosive devices on the approach to the building prevent the assault. To neutralize them, the command attracted engineering units of the Central Military District, which recently received peacekeeping status, as well as sappers from Belarus.
Unlike other units, these servicemen were dressed in modern suits of an OVR-3SH sapper with the 6th class of protection. It is provided by the use of rigid metal, plastic and ceramic plates in this ammunition, as well as flexible elements made of aramid fabric. Also, military engineers had assault shields, sensors "friend-foe", "alive-wounded, killed" and modules of GLONASS/GPS satellite navigation. And also - protective helmets, sapper machetes, kits for knocking locks out of doors, assault ladders, hydraulic pliers, demolition machines and other means for the successful completion of the task.
Such equipment, as well as excellent professional training of sappers did their job. They cleared the captured building and allowed it to be cleared of conditional bandits. "Engineering Special Forces" coped with the tasks and proved itself well at the exercise "Unbreakable Brotherhood-2021," the press service of the Central Military District reported.
