TSAMTO, November 10. The crew of the naval minesweeper "Pyotr Ilyichev", built for the Pacific Fleet, settled on the ship after completing training at the Joint Training Center of the Navy in St. Petersburg.
The crew is successfully settling in and preparing for factory tests to check power plants, ship-wide systems and ventilation systems.
At the training center, the sailors studied the principles of building a new project ship and the basics of operation in basic specialties. During the training, the crew used a training base consisting of ship components and mechanisms of the new building, on which the new team worked out actions as part of combat crews.
The Project 12700 naval minesweeper is the sixth in the series and the fifth production ship of this project. The new minesweeper is named in honor of the Hero of the Soviet Union, the Red Navy of the Pacific Fleet, Pyotr Ivanovich Ilyichev, who died during the storming of Shumshu Island on August 18, 1945.
The new ship has a unique hull made of monolithic fiberglass and is designed to combat all types of modern mines. It is equipped with the latest sonar stations located on the ship itself and on remote-controlled autonomous underwater vehicles and has an automated mine action control system.
