TSAMTO, November 10. The servicemen of the CSTO member states, who are taking part in the exercise with the Collective Peacekeeping Forces "Indestructible Brotherhood-2021" in Kazan, highly appreciated the newest armored vehicle "Lens".
Medical armored vehicles "Lens" are involved for the first time in the exercises "Indestructible Brotherhood". Servicemen from Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Armenia got acquainted with the tactical and technical characteristics of the vehicle during a practical episode on the evacuation of the wounded. They highly appreciated the safety of the machine and called it "a technique from computer games."
The Lens armored car entered service with the Central Military District in May 2021. It is designed to search, collect and remove the wounded from the battlefield and centers of mass sanitary losses. An armored car with a 4x4 wheel formula from the Typhoon families is used as the base vehicle. Its reservation protects the crew and the transported wounded from armor-piercing bullets from a 7.62 x 54 rifle cartridge, as well as fragments. The armored car is also able to protect passengers from an explosion of up to eight kilograms of TNT under the bottom. The maximum speed of the car is 105 km / h, the press service of the Central Military District reports.
