"The crews of the Yeisk and Kasimov small anti-submarine ships of the Black Sea Fleet, as part of the ship search strike group, worked out the search and detection of a simulated enemy submarine in cooperation with the crew of the Ka-27M anti-submarine helicopter. During the exercise, the crews of the ships, using their own data and data about the submarine from an anti-submarine helicopter, carried out a search and tracking of the submarine, and also attacked an underwater target using torpedo and jet bomb weapons," the navy said.
In addition, during the search for the submarine, the crews of the ships performed the tasks of air defense of the ship's strike group at sea crossing with the performance of anti-aircraft missile and artillery firing at an aerial target. The exercise took place in one of the sea ranges in the Black Sea in accordance with the combat training plan of the fleet forces.
It is clarified that the role of the submarine of the conditional enemy was performed by one of the Black Sea Fleet submarines.
At the moment, there are two US Navy ships in the Black Sea - the flagship command ship Mount Whitney and the guided missile destroyer Porter, whose actions are monitored by the forces and means of the Black Sea Fleet. Earlier, the US Sixth Fleet reported that the ships headed to the Black Sea to conduct joint operations with allies and NATO partners in the region.
