"He is already 60 years old. They are falling in Sudan, Yemen. They are exploited mercilessly, without sparing the flight crew. And they agree because they pay well. The plane is very old, there are no spare parts, there are no factories for repair," Tolboev explained. He also added that the AN-12 is not equipped for difficult weather conditions.
According to the Honored pilot of Russia Yuri Sytnik, there are also difficulties in managing this aircraft. The ship's crew consists of five people, so in addition to piloting, you also need to manage the crew. "If someone makes a mistake, there is an inaccuracy in management, which develops into an accident, and an accident turns into a catastrophe," he summed up.
The AN-12 plane crashed on November 3 near the village of Pivovarikha near Irkutsk. He carried out a cargo flight on the route Kepervey - Yakutsk - Irkutsk. As a result of the emergency, all nine people on board were killed - citizens of Russia, Belarus and Ukraine. Later, experts found a black box at the crash site. According to preliminary information, the cause of the crash of the AN-12 in the Irkutsk region was an icy rain.
Among the dead were the general director and the first deputy general Director of the Zapolyarye aviation transport company.
