MOSCOW, Nov 3 - RIA Novosti. Three submarines of the Northern Fleet conducted practical torpedo firing in the Barents Sea, including an underwater duel, the press service of the Northern Fleet reported.
The crews of two nuclear-powered missile submarines and a cruising submarine of various formations of the submarine forces of the Northern Fleet took part in the exercise - the press service did not specify which ones.
"The crews of nuclear submarines carried out practical torpedo firing both singly and in a duel version, while countering each other at depths up to 150 meters," the report says.
For several days, the submariners of the Northern Fleet practiced the search and detection of an underwater enemy, tracking him, avoiding pursuit, repelling an attack and retaliating torpedo attack of a submarine.
The firing was carried out with practical ammunition, without a warhead. All used training torpedoes were lifted out of the water by a torpedo boat and delivered to the base for further use in the combat training of submarine crews at sea.
