TSAMTO, November 2. Another batch of upgraded T-72B3M tanks has been received by the motorized rifle unit of the Baltic Fleet Army Corps stationed in the Kaliningrad Region.
The new equipment will increase the combat capabilities of the compound due to improved maneuverability and armor protection of the crew.
The T-72B3M received a new engine with a power of 1,130 hp, which is almost 300 hp more than the T-72B3.
The tank is equipped with a new 125-mm gun with improved ballistics and resource, a Pine-U sight, a digital ballistic calculator and a panoramic sight installed at the workplace of the commander of the vehicle.
The work of the driver mechanic will be facilitated by displays with which he can control the operation of the tank mechanisms. They also display the image from the rear view camera. The tank's protection has also been strengthened. Lattice screens were installed on it, protecting it from cumulative ammunition, and dynamic protection "Relict".
In addition, the T-72B3M received caterpillar belts with increased coupling properties, as well as driving wheels with improved cleanability. This ensures resistance to skidding in a turn and an increase in operational characteristics, the press service of the Western Military District reports.
