Helicopters were used to simulate an air raid of a simulated enemy during the Russian-Serbian exercises "Slavic Shield - 2021"
MOSCOW, November 2. /tass/. An aerial target simulator of a helicopter (VM-V) developed by Technodinamika Holding of Rostec State Corporation was first used in military exercises to simulate an air raid by a simulated enemy. The drones served as targets for the Pantsir-S anti-aircraft missile and cannon systems, the press service of Technodinamika told TASS on Tuesday.
According to the holding, unmanned helicopters, "which have no analogues in Russia, were used for the first time to simulate an air raid by a conditional enemy during the Russian-Serbian exercises "Slavic Shield - 2021".
According to Igor Nasenkov, General Director of Technodinamika, the use of helicopter simulator air targets in the exercises fulfilled two tasks.
"On the one hand, the VM-V allowed the participants of the exercises to work out practical actions to detect and eliminate a simulated air enemy. On the other hand, the functional capabilities and tactical and technical characteristics of the unmanned aerial vehicle were checked in the mountainous terrain where the exercises took place," the press service quoted Nasenkov as saying.
An aerial target simulator of a helicopter is part of a complex with unmanned aerial vehicles - an aerial target simulator developed and created at the Dynamics center. The unmanned helicopter is capable of being in the air for at least 2 hours, reaching a maximum altitude of 2.5 km. The maximum range of its radio communication is 100 km. VM-V is intended for use as a target simulator of a target during testing. The first batch of multifunctional unmanned helicopter-type aircraft complexes was transferred to the VKS at the end of 2020.
The Russian-Serbian exercises "Slavic Shield - 2021" took place at the Batajnica Air Base in Serbia in mid-October. They were attended by units of the armed forces of Russia and Serbia, equipped with an anti-aircraft missile and cannon complex "Pantsir".
