The launch of the Ukrainian satellite for remote sensing of the Earth "Sich-2-30" was postponed. In the United States, it was reported that the launch of the Falcon 9 launch vehicle was postponed to 2022. This is reported by the information and consulting agency Defense Express.
A message about the postponement of the launch appeared on the SpaceX website. The rocket will be launched on January 10, 2022. Initially, the launch of the Falcon 9 Block 5 was planned to take place in December.
The agency notes that in May it became known about the agreement between the Yuzhnoye Design Bureau (KB) and ISILAUNCH to launch the Sich-2-30 satellite with a Falcon 9 rocket.
The Earth remote sensing device "Sich-2-30" is to become the first satellite of the Ukrainian orbital grouping. The national scientific and Technical space program of Ukraine assumes the launch of seven satellites into orbit by 2025.
The satellite "Sich-2-30" was developed by specialists of the Yuzhnoye Design Bureau. The device is designed to create images of the Earth's surface in the infrared and visible ranges. The satellite weighing 180 kilograms is based on the EgyptSat-1 device, which Ukrainian designers developed by order of Egypt.
In September, it became known about the completion of qualification tests of the satellite layout with models of the separation system from the carrier and the payload adapter. In the course of the corresponding report, Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine - Minister for Strategic Industries Oleg Urusky noted that a backup date for the launch of the satellite has been set for January 2022.
