The final inspection became a stage of preparation for the Vostok-2022 exercises, which will be held next year
THE USPENOVSKY POLYGON /Sakhalin/, October 28. /tass/. T-80 tanks, drones and Hyacinth artillery installations were involved in exercises to defend the Sakhalin coast from the landing of a conditional enemy.
"During the exercises, the issues of management and interaction of units in the organization of anti-amphibious defense of the Sakhalin coast, the introduction of new tactical techniques, taking into account the experience of fighting in the Syrian Arab Republic, were worked out," the press service of the Eastern Military District told reporters.
The maneuvers, which took place on the tactical field "Taranai" of the Uspenovsky training ground, involved units of the motorized rifle unit of the 68th Army Corps of the Eastern Military District. According to the scenario of the exercises, artillery units on self-propelled artillery installations of the self-propelled gun "Hyacinth" destroyed the main landing means of a conditional enemy who was trying to land on the coast of Sakhalin Island. Further, the crews of tracked minelayers and floating transporters of the PTS-2 established minefields in the defense area of motorized rifle units.
The defeat of the enemy landing was inflicted by tank units on the T-80, and the destruction of the conditional enemy was completed by motorized rifle units that went on the offensive. The calculation of Aileron-3 aerial drones was used for reconnaissance of targets and correction of artillery and tank units' fire and objective monitoring of the results of the exercises.
The press service of the district clarified that the exercises were conducted as part of the final inspection for the summer training period and became a stage of preparation for the strategic command and staff exercises "Vostok-2022", which will be held on the territory of the Eastern Military District next year.
