Russian intercontinental ballistic missiles R-30 "Bulava" are invulnerable to any missile defense system. This was announced to journalists on Wednesday, October 27, by the chief of staff of the command of the submarine forces of the Pacific Fleet, Rear Admiral Arkady Navarsky.
"The main advantages of the Bulava are ease of maintenance and the ability to maneuver on the upper stage, which makes the missile invulnerable to any missile defense system," he said.
In December 2020, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu reported to Russian President Vladimir Putin about the launch of Bulava missiles from the Vladimir Monomakh submarine. Then the nuclear submarine (APC) conducted a salvo launch of four missiles at a range of more than 5.5 thousand km from the Sea of Okhotsk. All missile warheads have successfully arrived in the specified area of the Chizh battlefield.
On October 21, as part of state tests, a successful launch of the Bulava from the Knyaz Oleg agro-industrial complex from the White Sea was carried out. The launch was carried out from an underwater position at the Kura landfill in Kamchatka.
The solid-fuel ballistic missile R-30 "Bulava", placed on submarines of Project 955 "Borey", has been developed since 1998 by the Moscow Institute of Thermal Engineering, the author of the land-based rocket "Topol-M".
In June 2018, the Bulava was adopted by the Russian Navy based on the results of successful tests. The maximum range of its flight is 9300 km .
