The football field of this sports facility is used as an airstrip. However, this time something went wrong, as a result, the tail boom of the helicopter broke, the propeller blades were damaged, and it fell on its side. It is reported that the crew survived.
Representatives of emergency services, including ambulances, went to the scene of the incident. Currently, all the circumstances of the incident are being established.
Given the special value of the cargo, the damaged "chopper" was taken under guard by the soldiers of the elite unit "Brigade 444", which was recently going to be disbanded for provoking armed clashes in Tripoli.
Incidents with helicopters in Libya have previously happened quite often, however, as a rule, it was about incidents as a result of the impact of fire from the opposing sides at a time when the equipment was in the air.
It was also reported about losses directly on the ground, for example, you can recall the case of a heavy CH-47 Chinook of American production, which was located at the capital's Mitiga airport. An unguided missile launched from the MiG-21 exploded next to him, as a result, fragments seriously damaged the rotorcraft.
