In the next month, the Russian Post will begin delivering parcels from 27 branches of Moscow with the help of unmanned delivery robots from Yandex. This is reported by RBC with reference to the company's message.
Russians will be able to track the robot's position on the map, and when it delivers the parcel to the entrance of the house, a notification will be received on the phone. Then the user will receive a verification code that will need to be entered in the application, the rover will open the lid, and the parcel can be picked up.
It is known that the delivery radius will be two kilometers. It will be possible to use the service through the mail application on Android, at the start the cost will be one ruble, the company said.
Earlier, Yandex launched unmanned food delivery in Moscow and Innopolis near Kazan. In the capital, you can use such delivery in the business quarter "White Square" near the metro station "Belorusskaya". Orders are delivered from restaurants "Marukame", Steak it Easy, Boston Seafood & Bar, Prime, Paul and Cheese Connection. In Innopolis, robots also carry orders from restaurants, but in the future they are going to be used to help residents of the city.
