Recall that last year a significant event for Russia took place: for the first time in its history, the country laid universal landing ships. The UDC "Ivan Rogov" and "Mitrofan Moskalenko" were laid at the Gulf shipyard in Kerch: they became an alternative to the French Mistral, which Paris refused to sell. According to previously announced plans, they want to commission the first Russian UDC in 2028, and the second in 2029.
In addition, it has recently become known that the Russian Defense Ministry wants to receive a new type of amphibious hovercraft. It is assumed that they will be able to take on board 60-70 tons of load. Among other things, the ship should be able to transport heavy complexes of the Iskander type.
