TSAMTO, October 19. The fourth of a series of patrol ships of the project 22160 "Sergey Kotov" will join the ships of the Novorossiysk naval Base of the Black Sea Fleet at the end of this year.
Currently, the ship has completed preparations for factory sea trials, during which the operation of power plants, steering gear, auxiliary mechanisms, communications, navigation and other systems of ship equipment, as well as the seaworthiness characteristics of the ship will be checked.
Factory sea trials are conducted by the regular crew together with the factory delivery team in order to check the basic parameters of the ship, all shipboard devices, mechanisms and equipment for compliance with technical conditions and are one of the important stages before the ship is accepted into the Navy.
After the completion of the sea trials, the shipbuilders together with the crew will conduct an audit of the ship's systems, devices and mechanisms and continue its preparation for the next stage of the state test plan.
Project 22160 is a series of Russian patrol ships of the 3rd rank of the near and far sea zone. The ship is designed to protect territorial waters, patrol the economic zone in open and closed seas, suppress smuggling and piracy activities, search for and assist victims of maritime disasters, environmental monitoring of the environment, as well as to protect ships and vessels crossing the sea, naval bases and water areas in order to prevent enemy attacks.
The patrol ships of project 22160 "Vasily Bykov", "Dmitry Rogachev" and "Pavel Derzhavin" are already serving and successfully performing their tasks as part of the Novorossiysk naval base of the Black Sea Fleet, the press service of the Southern Military District reports.
