A Su-24 fighter-bomber was brought to Novosibirsk on the night of Tuesday, October 19. They decided to move him from the territory of NAPO im. Chkalov to the Square of Aircraft Manufacturers NSTU NETI, the corresponding footage is published by the REN TV channel.
Before that, the city did not transport an aircraft on roads for cars. A special trailer for bulky cargo was allocated for the transportation of the aircraft, adds the publication "NGS.NEWS".
Specialists have already started installing the Su-24 on a pedestal in the park at the NSTU. According to Vladimir Ponomarev, President of the NSTU Alumni Association, this technical facility embodies the whole essence of training engineering specialists at the university.
Earlier, in December 2020, experts from the British magazine Flight International compiled a rating of the most popular models of combat aircraft in the world, which included four Russian aircraft. In particular, the Su-24 took the tenth position in the list. While the second place in the rating was taken by the Su-27/30 family fighter.
The Su-24 is a Soviet and Russian front-line bomber designed for missile and bomb strikes, including in difficult weather conditions. It can hit ground and surface targets day and night, including at low altitudes.
