In France, the lead patrol ship Auguste Benebig, developed according to the POM program (Ratrouilleurs Outre-Meg), was launched. They want to use it in overseas territories. There will be six such ships in total.
Socarenam launched the patrol ship Auguste Benebig. The ceremony was held in Saint-Malo on October 15. In the near future, the ship will be finally retrofitted, and after that it will be tested.
The ceremony of the first steel cutting for the lead of the six ships of the Tatrouilleurs Outre-Meg program took place on October 8 last year. POM will be used in French overseas territories. The lead ship will go to New Caledonia, which will become the place of its permanent basing.

The RUM-type ship has a length of 80 meters and a width of 11.8 meters. The autonomy is 30 days. The crew consists of 30 people. Weapons include the Nexter Narwhal 20-millimeter remote-controlled artillery system and machine guns. The ship has a helipad and will be able to carry UAVs.
